If your wedding is in Nagpur, your photographer will ask you for outdoor locations. Here are the five we recommend, ranked by how often the resulting photo ends up on the wedding invite.
1. Khindsi Lake — Golden Hour
An hour out of town, but the only spot near Nagpur with a long, clear horizon line. Best two hours before sunset, for the warm side-light. The lake works equally well for engagement shoots and post-wedding "after-party" portraits.
2. Sitabuldi Fort — Blue Hour
The fort opens publicly only on the second Saturday of each month, but special-occasion permissions are granted by the District Magistrate's office for weddings. The walls catch the deep blue post-sunset sky beautifully.
3. Deekshabhoomi — Dawn
The white marble glows pink at first light. Modest dress is required — long sleeves, no shoes inside the stupa. Permission is required for any commercial photography.
4. Maharaj Bagh Zoo Gardens — Mid-morning
Lush, soft-light gardens at the centre of the city. A favourite of pre-wedding videographers. Allow two hours for the permission to be cleared at the gate.
5. The Property — Anytime
If the wedding is at The Grand Dularia, the bridal portrait is best shot in the morning sun on the Millennium Hall colonnade, and the night portrait under the string-lit Classic Rooftop.
The Light Calendar
- Dawn (5:30–6:30 AM): Pink, soft, romantic. Best for couple portraits.
- Golden hour (5:30–6:30 PM): Warm, low side-light. Best for "candid" engagement shots.
- Blue hour (6:30–7:00 PM): Cool, moody, post-sunset. Best for cinematic teaser frames.
- Midday: Avoid for outdoors. Photographers will prefer indoor light.
Our wedding-week itinerary always blocks 30 minutes for golden-hour photographs of the bride and groom — usually on the property's lawn. Ask the producer about it.
