Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve is India's most reliably tigery patch of forest — and it sits a comfortable three hours from The Grand Dularia. Most of our guests use the property as their Nagpur base and drive in for the day, returning in time for dinner.
The Drive
Take NH-353C south-east through Bhandara and onwards to Chandrapur. The road is smooth and well-signed; the last forty kilometres into Moharli or Khutwanda gates wind through quieter teak country. We recommend leaving Nagpur by 4:30 AM for the morning safari (6:00 AM gate entry in summer).
Booking the Safari
Safari permits open 60 days in advance on the official Maharashtra Forest Department portal. Tadoba runs two slots — morning (6 AM to 10 AM) and afternoon (3 PM to 6 PM). The morning slot is reliably better for tiger sightings; book Moharli, Khutwanda, or Kolara gates for the highest density.
Permits cost approximately ₹2,500 per Indian adult plus the cost of a Gypsy and guide. Foreign nationals pay roughly four times the Indian rate.

Stay With Us, Drive In
Tadoba's lodges book out three to four months ahead, especially November through May. Many of our regulars choose to stay in the comfort of our Super Deluxe rooms and drive in for a single safari day — you get an excellent night's sleep, hot showers, and a chef-prepared breakfast packed for the road. Ask the concierge to arrange a private driver and packed picnic.
